A two-day workshop titled “Sensitization and Capacity Enhancement to EC in Bangladesh on Climate Change-Related Ethical issues in Health Research” was organized by “R(H)OPE (The Right to an Open Future)” and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, and funded by the World Health Organization, Geneva, on 19 and 26 April, from 9 am to 2 pm, at Army Gulf Club, Karmitola, Dhaka.
Atotal of 60 Ethics Committee members from ten private medical colleges and institutes in Bangladesh, was build awareness and capacity through this program.
Special guest was Engineer. Nargis Akter, National Professional Officer (Water, Sanitation, Health and Environment), WHO Bangladesh.
Prof Dr Taslima Monsoor, Professor, Department of Law, University of Dhaka and Professor and Advisor, Department of Law, AIUB, President, BBS; Dr. Arif Hossain Professor, Department of International Studies and Human Rights, Itrat University, Founding chaiman and Vice President of BBS; Professor Dr. MA Shakoor, Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) and Chairman of ERC, BBS; Professor Shamima Parveen Laskar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Bioethics Society and Professor of Anatomy were present in the occasion.
